I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease about 10 years and have recently been diagnosed with also having severe IBS. My Crohn’s is managed with medication but unfortunately the IBS hasn’t responded to medications. Whist I agree with you from a general health point of view, in terms of the obesity in youths and the effects diet has on health, I don’t think it can be a generalised as a cause of IBD or IBS. I can honestly say that have never eaten a MacDonald’s. As a child/teenager my parents always ensured we had natural wholesome home made food and my husband and I have always bought our meat from our local butcher, bought organic veg where possible and we have NEVER eaten convenience or microwave foods (I was raised to appreciate good food).

I was disgusted when I received an e-mail from my wife that had a video attached to it covering the process of how they mix the glue and the meat together. As I said – I was totally disgusted seeing, hearing and reading about this. Is nothing sacred any more? Our country, the old U.S of A. actually allows this disgusting thing to happen… all so a bunch of business owners can make that almighty buck?! How can they sleep at night? I’m referring to the politicians who close their weys to this as well as the politicians that allowed this to happen as well as the “money grubbing” meat packing industry leaders. I too, same as Russ stated in his post dated May 25, 2011, will do my best in letting the world know about this disgusting and life-stopping activity that our country’s leaders allow to happen!
